Terms.

These are the terms that apply when you order a cable from em-modshop. By placing an order you agree to them. We have kept the language plain and the rules short — the spirit is fair treatment for everyone, not legalese.

About em-modshop

em-modshop is a small one-person workshop based in Albania, hand-building retro audio / video cables (RGB, component, RF, SCART, sync converters, console-specific looms) for the enthusiast market.

Products and orders

We list products with photos, specifications, and stock counts that reflect the real items in the workshop. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order if the product is mispriced, out of stock, or the order looks fraudulent — in which case any payment taken is fully refunded.

When you place an order, your stock is reserved at the moment you click pay. If payment fails, the stock is released. The order is confirmed only once payment clears.

Pricing and payment

All prices are charged in EUR. The site can display prices in USD or GBP for reference, but the actual charge on your card or PayPal account is always in EUR — your bank’s exchange rate at the moment of payment will set the final amount in your local currency.

Payment is processed by PayPal (with optional card payment through PayPal’s hosted card form). We never see or store your card details.

Shipping

We ship from Albania, tracked, with delivery times typically between 3 and 10 working days depending on your destination. Shipping cost is calculated at checkout from your country and shown before you pay. We email a tracking link as soon as the cable goes out.

Customs, duties, and import taxes

Because we ship from outside the EU, UK, USA, and most other destinations, your local customs may add import VAT, duty, or a courier handling fee on delivery. Whether anything is charged, and how much, depends entirely on your country’s rules (EU has no minimum threshold; UK applies VAT above £135; USA has an $800 de-minimis; etc.).

These charges are not includedin the price you pay us — they go to your local authorities and courier, not to us. They are the buyer’s responsibility. If you refuse to pay them and the parcel is returned to us, we will refund the product price minus the original outbound shipping cost.

Returns and refunds

You can return any unused cable in its original packaging within 14 days of receiving it for a refund of the product price. Return shipping is at your cost. Once we receive the cable back and confirm it is unused, the refund is processed within a few working days.

Custom-built or modified cables (anything made to a specification you supplied — non-standard length, custom connector combinations, modded console looms) cannot be returned for a change of mind. They can still be returned if they arrive faulty (see below).

Faulty or defective cables

Every cable is tested before it leaves the workshop, but if one arrives damaged or stops working within 30 days of delivery, contact us and we will replace it or refund it, including return shipping. After 30 days, the standard warranty rules of your country apply — in the EU and UK that is at least two years for hidden defects.

Limitation of liability

em-modshop cables are passive interconnects for retro audio / video equipment. We test what we ship and we stand behind it, but our total liability for any claim related to a cable is capped at the price you paid for that cable. We are not responsible for damage to other equipment in your setup beyond that cap. Nothing here limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer law in your country.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Albania. If you are an EU consumer, the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country still apply on top of these terms — anything in here that conflicts with them is overridden by them.
